Teacher-Directed Junior High

Junior High can be the most challenging and rewarding grades of a student's education. There are different subjects, new activities, and, yes, more homework!

Junior high plays a significant role in future academic performance and achievement. These grades are the foundation for academic excellence in grades 10, 11, and 12. Students develop more mature and abstract ways of thinking. In other words, strong results in junior high school translate into a more successful secondary and post-secondary experience.

By studying areas that are relevant, challenging, and exploratory, the student will naturally begin to develop an interest in various subjects and begin the process of considering future academic and career options.

Students enrolled in a Teacher Directed, Shared or Parent Directed program are encouraged to write Provincial Achievement exams in grade nine as a way to self-assess their educational needs.
