Principal Message

Principal

Welcome everyone! We hope you had a great summer. My name is Scott MacDonald and I am the principal at School of Hope and Hope Home Schooling.

I have been an educator for over 20 years and I have taught at the elementary, junior high and senior high grades. I moved to Vermilion from Cold Lake where I was a vice principal for the last 7 years. Catholic education is of the utmost importance to me and I am honoured to be able to serve families from across Alberta. I am excited to be part of School of Hope and cannot wait to start meeting students and families from our school.

My passions run deep. I have coached hockey, basketball and baseball over the past 20 years. I am currently the goalie coach for my daughter's hockey team. In addition, I love to ski with my son, and we are each other's reading buddies.

It is wonderful to have so many returning students and I want to welcome all of our new families. I am looking forward to getting to know you as the year progresses.

Our key values here at School of Hope and Hope Homeschooling are flexibility and relationships and I’ll strive to build upon the great things already happening at School of Hope

God Bless,

Scott MacDonald
