In the elementary TD program students are signing up to meet the Alberta Program of Studies with the involvement of a teacher to assess that those POS outcomes are met. This is done through regular and continuous contact with the teacher, teacher assessments and parent help. In consultation with the teacher, parent and student, the program is developed to meet the individual needs of the student. Students are given the flexibility to meet the outcomes through a variety of curriculum, lessons and supports that best meet the student's needs. Teachers are available throughout the day to help students, and also present lessons to them if they need it. In the end, the students will be assessed at how well they met the Alberta Program of Studies outcomes and will receive a report card to reflect this. PATs are available and encouraged for a standardized assessment, but an alternate means of assessment can also be done.
